Handling RSU and ESPP in same stock lot of 1099

I sold 4 different lots of stock (same company) on the same day. The 4 different lots were purchased at 4 different years, some are RSU and some are ESPP shares. All were purchased over 5 years ago, and are therefore all long term.

Since the 1099-B was imported to TT, they show up as one sale (since they were sold on the same day). The total # of shares are displayed, and the 'Date acquired' is 'Various'. They are all "long term covered".

1. I select 'I'll enter one sale at a time' and Continue.

2. There are no 'less common items on the 1099-B' and I select 'Done'.

3. TT asks: Was this a sale of employee stock?

I answer 'Yes' (since they are both ESPP and RSU stock) and

'Yes, all stock in this account was acquired through an employee stock plan'

I click 'Continue'.

TT then asks: What type of employee stock is this?

I can only select ONE option. However, the stock is BOTH ESPP and RSU.

How can I fix this?

I have verified that the cost basis of my RSU and ESPP stock is correct. Can I say "No" in step 3 and say it is not employee stock?

mellynlee1,

While I hope it isn't too much of a burden, you ought to enter a second sale manually that just covers the RSU shares (or the ESPP shares if that is a shorter list) and then delete the RSU shares from the list that was imported.  I understand some folks have had success importing the 1099-B twice and pruning the two lists, but I have never tried that.
