For my property that I converted from primary resident to rental, where do I enter property tax? if I tell TurboTax how many days were rental, can it figure out the portion of property tax for rental expanse and the portion for home?

You will need to make the calculation on your own and enter the separate portions in their respective categories.

For the rental portion, go to:

  1. Federal taxes category
  2. Wages and income sub-category
  3. Choose the option for I'll choose what I work on
  4. Rental Properties and Royalties section.
  5. Click start next to the line for Rental Properties and Royalties (Sch E)
  6. Go through the rental interview screens until you find the screen labeled Enter Common Expenses.
  7. There will be a line for property taxes.

For the personal portion, go to:

  1. Federal taxes category
  2. Deductions and credits subcategory
  3. Choose the option for I'll choose what I work on
  4. Click start next to the line for Property Taxes
