Can I use Turbotax to deal with the Augusta exemption, Section 280A? I received a 1099-misc for for the rental income. I've been using a CPA to avoid any problems.

Yes, if you use a dwelling unit as a residence and rent it for fewer than 15 days, don't report any of the rental income and don't deduct any expenses as rental expenses.

You use a dwelling unit as a home during the tax year if you use it for personal purposes more than the greater of:

  •     14 days, or
  •     10% of the total days it is rented to others at a fair rental price.

Note that if you take the deduction for the business use of a home office, you cannot use the Augusta Rule.
