Can I file a W-2 on TurboTax using just my employer ID number? I noticed it did not fill in all the other boxes are they necessary or will that get sorted out later.?

You still need to enter the figures and codes in the various boxes on your W-2.  Because employer IDs are unique, TurboTax was able in your instance to suss out the employer name and address.
