2023 Investment import not allowed from Robinhood on 2023 Desktop, says forms will be available Feb 6 2025

I'm using 2023 Turbotax Desktop and when attempting to import my Robinhood (using the built-in broker locator), I get a pop up saying that forms will not be available until Feb 6 2025. This makes sense for 2024 investments but the forms are there in Robinhood for 2023 tax year. Seems like a glitch in the software and I really, really do not want to do this manually. Any ideas on a work around?

Evidently Robinhood, like many other brokers, has discontinued the download/import of 2023 tax data.  You would have to call them to check but it appears what you're looking at is the import of 2024 tax data into your 2024 return. If correct, you'll need to buy (or already have) the desktop version of 2023 to finish your return which will require manual entry of the Robinhood data and any other info that wasn't already entered. also, 2023 will have to be mailed because e-filing for 2023 has been terminated.

if you started your return online you can upload the xxxx.tax2023 file to your computer to continue preparation.

if you need to purchase desktop here's a link. there are other sources such as Amazon, Walmart, Costco

the only workaround for security transactions would be

1) get a copy of the 1099-B

2) enter summary totals (indicate them as such using code m)

3) attach the 1099-B to your mailed return

also, be sure to attach any withholding forms, mail state separately from federal, sign and date returns, and follow any other Turbotax filing instructions
