No.   It goes by the age of the child at the end of 2021.   They do not calculate up to his birthday.   If your child was 6 or older at the end of 2021, you get a total of $3000 for his child tax credit.    And it is reconciled against the amount of advance payments you received already.

 

The amount you can still get for him will be shown on line 28 of your Form 1040.
