State tax filing
If you are a nonresident of Oregon, have assigned duties there regularly and in at least one other state; you have to meet the requirements below for them to not tax your wages.
You will find examples of the types of workers that would be exempt here (Example 4 may be closest to regular truck driver situations, but review them all) http://library.state.or.us/repository/2011/201112071113563/Dec2009.pdf
To qualify, you must work for:
• An interstate railroad, or
• An interstate motor carrier, or
• An interstate motor private carrier.
In addition, you must:
• Be a nonresident of Oregon, and
• Have regularly assigned duties in more than one state. This means you perform duties in each state on a regular basis. Duties you perform on an "on-call" or "as-needed" basis or on a sporadic or intermittent basis during the year are not considered "regularly assigned duties," and
• Be subject to the jurisdiction of the U.S. Secretary of Transportation.
