State tax filing
Well, it would be great if they could.
But, the company would have to register in some way with the GA dept of revenue in order to do that.
Certainly large national companies would be required to, since they work in all states.....but GA cannot require an out-of-state business to withhold GA taxes if the company does not have some kind of physical company operations or "nexus" in GA.
If the company does not offer you the capability to withhold GA state taxes, you should be paying quarterly estimated taxes to GA to avoid the eventual large tax bill, and potential penalty for underpayment at tax time.
Go to the GA Dept of Revenue website and download the Form 500-ES tax forms you would send in when you pay those quarterly estimates......a bit too late to do much about 2022 taxes, though you could send in the final payment for 2022 before 15 Jan 2023....but you could get ahead of the 2023 payments by preparing to pay for them (First payment due by 15 April)
They probably also have a way to pay quarterly online, but I haven't looked thru all the GA pages to find it.
@DoninGA may be able to fill you in on where to find that.
