After you file
IL State Form IL-1040-X will be generated if you amend your IL state tax return. To print your amended tax returns, please review the following TurboTax FAQ but instead of selecting Take me to my return, you may have to select Add a State just to get back into the return area: How do I print a copy of my TurboTax Online return before filing?
If you have not received the refunds you originally filed for or paid taxes owed, then you should consider waiting until those transactions occur because the IRS and/or state department(s) of revenue may determine the change you need to make and may not want you to file amended tax returns and instead provide instructions how they want you to proceed. Furthermore, TurboTax calculates your amended tax refunds or taxes owed based on the assumption you already received the refunds you originally filed for or paid taxes owed. Thus, if you don't actually receive the original refund(s) you filed for or need to adjust the amount(s), please keep that in mind when you actually amend your tax returns.
However, if you know you owe taxes and if waiting for the expected direct debit date for the original taxes owed to occur will make your amended taxes owed late (after April 17, 2018), then you may go ahead and file amended tax return(s). If you're going to file the amended tax return(s) and related payment before the expected direct debit date of your original taxes owed, you should consider including a note explaining you e-filed your original tax return(s) but direct debit has not occurred yet but you are filing amended tax return(s) and including related payment, etc. Please review the following TurboTax FAQs for more information:
