No you do not amend. You just fix your return and resend it. No problem.
You should NOT use Amend to fix a rejected return. You should Click on Add a State to let you back into your return.
If you clicked on the amend button to fix it you might need to undo that first. How to delete an Amended return in the Online version

Then to fix it go to My Info and look for the checkbox that says you are a dependent.
