After you file
1. The only way to update the bank account information now is to file the 2020 tax return.
2. To look up W-2's from 2019, check your transcripts at the IRS because they also received a copy. To do this, go to the IRS website at www.irs.gov and request a Record of Account transcript for 2018 and 2019 by selecting this IRS link: Get Transcript Online.
3. Keep in mind that each year must be filed separately. 2019 must be filed using 2019 rules. For more information, see: How do I prepare a 2019, 2018, or 2017 tax return?
4. Regarding 2020:
- When filing the 2020 tax year, to report whether the stimulus payments have been received as the Recovery Rebate Credit, follow these steps:
- Go to the search box and enter stimulus. Click the Jump to link.
- Answer Yes.
- At the next screen, Let's double-check the amount you received, answer No to edit the first-round and second-round amounts.
- If no stimulus amount was received, enter 0. An amount must be entered in each box. When finished, click Continue.
- To start entering W-2 information for 2020, inside TurboTax, go to the search box in the top right corner and enter W2.
- Select the Jump to link in the search results.
- Select Add a W-2 to begin entering information.

- Regarding reporting any unemployment received, this is reported in its own section.
- From the left menu, select Federal.
- On the Wages tab that is now open, scroll down to find Unemployment, click Show More and Start.
