It depends. You may need to complete your return using TurboTax CD/Download if you are using TurboTax Online. Since the amendments are paper filed anyway and the software allows you to override a cell in the Forms Mode, it will be easier to navigate in the software. Amendments and overrides cannot be e-filed.
I recommend the following steps:

2. Switch to TurboTax Software. Since the program is already paid for, the download can be done without any additional charge. How do I switch from TurboTax Online to the TurboTax software?

Your federal return should have one change, the dependent change, as you identified.
Your North Carolina should begin as originally filed with the amendment with the K-1 change and the dependent change, also as you identified.
