After you file
You have to hit the Transmit Returns button in order to e-file your return or print/mail your return, if not e-filing.
If you have e-filed using TurboTax Online, you can check e-file status here https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/
If you are using TurboTax desktop product, open the software, click File tab in the very top of computer screen and scroll down to Check E-Filing Status.
Your status should show as either Pending, Accepted or Rejected. If accepted, that means the government has your return and will handle processing from here on out. If pending, it's on the way to the government and they haven't accepted it yet. If rejected, you will need to check email for rejection code and fix what needs to be corrected.
And once you have filed successfully using TurboTax, the IRS and/or state handles all processing of the returns and your refunds. TurboTax no longer has any control nor does any processing/handling of the returns and refunds.
You can use the IRS Where's My Refund site for the latest status on your federal tax refund.
And you can use your State Department of Revenue's website to check status of state tax refund. Choose your state here How do I track my state refund? and it will give you steps to track the status.
