Get your taxes done using TurboTax

@Sportsjenn20 You can get a copy of your 2020 return from the IRS.   That will not be a tax file that you can use to put in the 2020 data to begin your 2021 return.   It will be a paper copy.   If you are unable to find your 2020 tax file on your hard drive then you will have to start 2021 from scratch.  Sorry.

If you used desktop software downloaded/installed from a CD to your own computer, then the tax files are stored locally on your own hard drive or any backup device you used like a flash drive.  They are not stored online.  If you cannot recover them due to a hard drive failure, etc. you can get a free transcript from the IRS or for a fee of $43, an actual copy of your tax return.
