Then why does the senior single person with no income want to file a return? Sounds like he can be a dependent on the other Joint return. But the address doesn't matter or affect filing.
Are you both using the Online version? Online is only good for 1 return per account. But you can use the same email address for 5 accounts. How to start another return in the Online version
