what would be the best solution to file a late return right now?

Since I do not owe IRS anything.

It would be best to print and mail the tax return to the IRS.

A spouse can never be claimed as your dependent.

If you are legally married you should be filing your tax return as Married Filing Jointly even if one spouse has little or no income.

Before mailing the tax return make sure that you both sign and date the tax return on page 2 of the Form 1040 in the box labeled Sign Here.  Include with the tax return copies of form W-2 and form 1099 which have federal taxes withheld on the form.

The mailing address for the federal tax return is on the Federal Filing Instruction page included with the print out of your tax return.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for printing a tax return for mailing when using the desktop CD/Download for Windows editions - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/print-and-file/help/how-do-i-print-and-mail-a-return-in-the-turbot...

It is recommended that when mailing a tax return use a tracking service from the US Post Office, certified mail with return receipt, so that you will know that the tax return was received by the IRS.
