9b? Sounds like a form 1099-R. (which does have box number 9b for Total Employee Contributions )
A 1099-R form is NOT a W-2 form, and if you are trying to enter that data in a software W-2, then you are using the wrong software form ! Delete that W-2 and go to the Retirement section of the Wages&Income page to enter your 1099-R in the proper place
