Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Your post is quite confusing--but it is impossible to e-file more than one federal tax return.  If you e-filed one federal tax return and it was accepted by the IRS, then any other attempts to e-file are just rejected--they go nowhere.    You say you "filed with a different company"---so you cannot file a federal return using TT.

 

As for using TurboTax to prepare your state return--the information flows from the federal return to the state return in this software.  You cannot prepare a "stand alone" state tax return using TT.  And....even if you prepared a federal return here, you would not be able to e-file a state return unless the federal return was e-filed successfully from TurboTax and accepted.  So you can only print, sign and mail your state return.

 

You need to check your e-file status and see what you have filed (and what has not been filed)
