You are not able to use the Free Edition because the early distribution you took requires that your tax return be prepared on a "long form" 1040. The Free Edition cannot be used to prepare a 1040. It can only be used to prepare a 1040EZ or 1040A.
There is another version of the software that would be free to use if you qualify. It would require that you establish a different account and user ID and start over.
