The SSI is not taxable so that is not included in the $4050 of gross income for the parent. Generally, you can claim your parent if they didn't have more than $4,050 in gross income (excluding nontaxable Social Security) and you provided more than half of their support. Your parent doesn't have to live with you. There are a few other specifics, but the TurboTax software will ask you as you go along and help you figure out if she can be claimed or not.
