This IRS reject happens when your return is missing Form 1095-A. If you had coverage through the Marketplace, you should have received a Form 1095-A. If you had coverage and didn't receive a form, you can visit Healthcare.gov to retrieve your form.
If you didn't have coverage, someone in your household could’ve had coverage, and you will need to report their 1095-A on the return.
If no one had coverage and you know that there won't be a Form 1095-A issued. You can certify this on your return by following the steps below:
- Open your return
- Go to Did you receive Form 1095-A for your health insurance plan?
- Select no on the question about receiving a Form 1095-A
- Selecting this certification will allow you to e-file your return and meet the requirements under rejected code F8962-070.
How do I fix the e-file reject F8962-070?
What does my rejected return code mean and how do I fix it?
