Get your taxes done using TurboTax
TurboTax may be able to import your W-2 but the payroll provider may require information from the W-2 before the information can be imported.
This TurboTax Help explains the W-2 import process and and states:
- We need the Box 1 amount from your W-2 or the year-to-date (YTD) gross income from your year-end pay stub.
- In some cases, we may need the Box d Control Number from your W-2, but only if your payroll provider requires it.
This IRS website explains that you may be able to contact the IRS if you have not received your W-2 by the end of February.
You may also be able to prepare an IRS form 4852 Substitute for Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement if you have a copy of your final paystub which reflects your income and withholding information.
