Correct ... the program asks for your MARITAL status which is SINGLE. After you enter a qualifying dependent the program will let you know if you qualify for HOH filing status. Rework the MY INFO section again.
Did you give the other parent (whom you do not live with) permission to claim the child if you are the custodial parent according to the IRS rules ? If so you can retain the HOH filing status however you must complete the dependent section correctly.
