Extension and completion

I filed an extension in April and paid a bunch of money because a 1099 was coded incorrectly. I finally got the corrected 1099 and thought I would file with turbo tax, but it thinks I still a bunch of money. The money owned didn’t change, so do I really need to print out the state and federal mess and snail mail everything? I expected to be able to file online, but I guess not?

When you requested your extension you were supposed to pay your estimated tax due.  Did you enter the payment you made into your tax return?

Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid>Other Income Taxes

Did you file an extension only or did you file the return?

If you filed an extension & paid tax to the IRS, please make sure you enter the taxes paid. Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid>Other Income Taxes.

Also enter the corrected 1099 numbers & after you have reviewed everything and the numbers look correct, you can go ahead and e-file your federal and state returns.

@kawnek12 Thanks for the question!!
