Don't pay anyone for help, that is almost always a scam.
If you have controlled your spending and don't need credit counseling, your best bet may simply be to start paying as much as you can. Two strategies are pay the smallest debts first (to clear them faster) or pay the highest interest rate debts first (to save the most money long term from interest.)
There are non-profit consumer credit counseling services that can help you negotiate lower payments or debt consolidation loans, but beware of credit "repair" companies that promise to erase your debt or remove negative items from your credit report. Even good counseling services have their downsides. If you think you really need one, start by investigating them at the better business bureau and the federal trade commission.
