Closed Accounts and My Credit Score

Why do my closed accounts still show up on my credit report? How can I get them removed?

Closed accounts stay on report for 7-10 years. If the payment history is positive, leave it. Otherwise you can try a credit repair company but unless the info is incorrect, they may not guarantee any change.
