Where does the national guard tuition assistance go?

I received the GI bill and the national guard tuition assistance for school. It is not listed on my 1098-T. Does the tuition assistance go under the veteran's education benefits, the employer-provided assistance, or other scholarships and grants?
Also, I only went to school in the fall, so if the assistance is $7,000 per year, should I put $3,500 since it was only one semester?

You may enter the GI and national Guard tuition on the Veteran's line on the Scholarship and Grant screen.

You need to enter whatever they really paid in 2016.

If they paid $3,500 because you only went part of the year, that is the amount you would report.

It is located under

  • Federal Taxes
  • Deductions & credits
  • Education
