The expense for the laptop is an additional education expense. You enter those expenses after you enter the 1098-T from the school. If you attended and paid an education institution, they should issue to you a 1098-T or it could be online in your student online account.
IF someone else claims you as their dependent, such as your parents, they claim the additional expenses to get a credit (more expense than scholarship). If there is no credit, but instead taxable income (more scholarship than expense), you, the student need to claim that income.
