What can I do if I can’t get my information from the department of education?

The federal Department of Education website is open - see here.    What information are you trying to retrieve?

There is no information that you need, from DOE, to file your taxes.  You may need info from your school, particularly a form 1098-T.  But most people already have that info  in their own billing records.
