Tuition $64K / non-accredited school. TT says "you qualify if school not required to issue 1098-T." Also says "to get max credit, enter EIN." Can I deduct for tuition?

The institution has to be eligible for US financial aid for you to claim any of the American Opportunity Tax credit or Lifetime Learning Credit. On top of that, even if the institution is eligible, your particular program may not be.

I would suggest first contacting the Institutions Financial Aid office and asking them the following 2 questions:

1) is the institution and my program eligible for federal funding?

2) what is the institution's EIN number

Then call IRS and a representative can tell you whether you may deduct. If the institution is not eligible, it's a prettypretty straightforward "no you cannot deduct".
