My son wasn’t in college in 2016 & deemed not a dependent. We pd tuition in 12/16 for school starting 1/17 & received a 1098-T. How can I enter this into Turbo Tax?

The tuition credit goes with the student's exemption (dependency). You can not enter the 1098-T on your return to claim the tuition credit or deduction, because he was not your dependent.

However, he may claim the tuition credit, on his return, even though he did not pay the tuition, since it was actually paid. His credit may be limited, depending on his income.
