My income is too high so I can’t claim the student loan interest offset of $2,500 Can my child who the loan is for take the write off

Your child can take a deduction for student loan interest paid only if the loan is in his name as well. The taxpayer who claims the student loan interest deduction must be legally obligated to pay interest on the loan.
