My daughter is a college freshman and received a 1098-T. The form has box seven checked as some expenses were for 2020. $1500 of a $3000 scholarship are for 2020.

I am getting an error that line 3 $1500 plus line 4 $3000 should not exceed line 2c $3000. What am I doing wrong?

What form is the error referring to concerning Line 3 and Line 4 that your are looking at.
