My 1098-T form added both semesters from 2017 and 2018. I put those numbers, though I did pay 2017 tuition that year I did not pay the 2018 tuition until January of 2018.

Should I edit it? I would think the school wouldn't have put the number they did if it was wrong. Help!

When you enter the 1098-T box 2, right under the box 2 entry is an option if the amount doesn't agree or something similar, you should click on that and a subscreen appears and enter the amount of tuition you actually paid in 2017.

In 2018 the box 2 is no longer supposed to be used and only box 1 which is tuition actually paid is supposed to get used although they may agree to give colleges 1 additional year to move to this method.

I hope this was helpful?
