Married filing separately for education loan reasons. Do I have to complete the Community Property Income? What is that?

We live together and this is only per the firm we are using for education Teacher Loan reduction program

Yes, you will need to file the worksheet if you are filing Married Filing Separately.  Texas is a community property state and the IRS will oblige you to follow state law on claiming community property income and expenses.  Here is an FAQ to assist you:  https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3301943

Basically, community property is what you have in common.  Texas basically states that since you are married, you each receive one-half of the household assets.  Thus, if you earned 30K, but your spouse earned 0, each of you are filing 15K.  There are other categories as well, but it is basically the same idea for each item of community property.  Here is a TurboTax website that gives more information:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/tax-tips/General-Tax-Tips/Five-Tax-Tips-for-Community-Property...
