Is there a bug in the amount of Foreign Income that can be excluded? It appears that TT is not excluding my income even though it says we can.

TT tells me I can exclude my income but then doesn't. "Congratulations! Our foreign earned income and housing exclusion is our total salary. You will not pay U.S. tax on this amount."

Is this a bug? I have gone back and changed the numbers and if I zero my salary out, no taxes are do. But if I add back in our salary, I do pay taxes even though it is far below the threshold.

Any ideas? I am pretty sure I do not pay any US taxes while living abroad - I didn't last year. I don't want to send money into the IRS just because there is a problem with TT.

The maximum Foreign Earned Income Exclusion amount for 2020 is $107,600.

If you are eligible and claim the housing exclusion you would be able to claim additional dollars above that amount.

I recommend you step back through the Foreign Income Exclusion section screens as there are many screens and check boxes that need to be marked to qualify all the way through.
