IRS Savers Credit for a Student

The IRS Website states: A school includes technical, trade, and mechanical schools. It does not include on-the-job training courses, correspondence schools, or schools offering courses only through the Internet.

If my classes are fully online at SNHU, but my school does have a small physical campus, can I qualify for the savers credit since I am an online student in a fully online school?

Q.  Can I qualify for the savers credit since I am an online student at SNHU, a fully online school?

A. No, since  SNHU is on the DOE list, and if you were enrolled as a full time student.   That "small physical campus" disqualifies you from claiming a "fully online school". But the good news is: you qualify for a tuition credit.

Enter your school at the link below, to verify it's on the dept. of education list.
