If my son 19 (dep) FT student got a W2 for <3.5K - where do i enter this information? should he file 1040EZ? I also plan to enter his school related expenses on my 1040.

Enter his 1098-T on your return, but not his Wages (w-2)
That W-2 goes on his own tax return.
