If i went to adult school to finish up my credits for my diploma , does that count as me going to school for my taxs?

It depends.  The requirements for being able to utilize the Lifetime Learning Credit are that expenses are for higher education, meaning that the student must already have a high school diploma or GED.

So, if the diploma you received was to obtain a high school diploma or GED, then, no, those courses would not count as education expenses.  

But, if you enrolled in an education program to obtain a diploma for a program that was part of a post-secondary degree program or to acquire or improve job skills, then those expenses may qualify.
