If I haven't made any payments toward my student loans, do I still qualify for the student loan interest paid tax deduction?

I'm not entirely sure if I qualify or not. I do have student loans that have incurred interest, but I have yet to make a payment. Do I qualify?

If you have not made any payments on your student loans, and have paid no interest on those loans, no, you cannot get a deduction for student loan interest.  The deduction is only for actually paying interest, and you would have a 1098E from the lender showing the interest you paid during the year.
