Q. I claimed my sons college expenses on my form, can I claim them again on his form?

A. Simple answer: No.

The tuition credit can only be claimed on one tax return, usually the parent's.

But, if the student needs to report some of his scholarship or 529 distribution, as taxable, then he can use the expenses, not used by the parent, to help reduce the tax.
