I am trying to enter my college expenses and it only asks me about books and materials to attend school. The tuition and enrollment fees area is grayed out but I haven't

I haven't entered my tuition costs. It won't take me to where I can fill in my 1098-t information

Go to the Education section again- Expenses and Scholarships- and make sure you have selected the student and go through the student information.  You should then be able to enter the 1098-T.

When I go to the educational section to fill out the expenses for college it does not even ask to select the student it only ask about books and materials. I am trying to enter the tuition area that is on the 1098t but it say the tuition was already entered and there is no area to enter that.

Can you follow these steps to see if the 1098 is entered-- How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?

Also- are you a dependent or is this for a dependent?

I went to TurboTax toolbar then view  then forms and it brought up all the forms that were incomplete and that’s where I saw the form 1098t and was able to put the correct tuition amount in. Thank you!

I found that deleting all of the education related forms from my return (under Tax Tools in the sidebar and then choose "Delete a form") let me start that section over and do it in the right order. It made my refund $450 more, too!!  Woo-hoo!!

I just wish it was more clear how to do it, if you're like me and just start the return, but put forms in as I receive them. If you don't do it just the right way, it misses this, and that's a big deal.
