I am a mother of 2 dependents. I work part time minimum and I'm a full-time college student can I claim exempt?

Very confused

There are strict requirements to claim Exempt, and the penalties are harsh if you do so incorrectly.  Thus, it's better if you claim a large number of exemptions on your W-4 instead.

Correct .... NEVER claim exempt .... simply enter more allowances on line 5 of the W-4 until you have no taxes withheld.... you can enter 10 if you like.
