I am a graduate student receiving stipend. Does W2 apply to me?

If you did not receive a Form W-2 or 1099, the stipend would be treated as a fellowship grant and still count as income on your tax return. You would just enter it slightly differently.

Here are the steps to enter info in the TurboTax Free Edition program:

  • After sign into your account, select Pick up where you left off
  • At the right upper corner, in the search box, type in "1098t" and Enter
  • Select Jump to form 1098T
  • Follow prompts
