Tuition, fees and other expenses paid for your online classes may be included as part of the American Opportunity Tax Credit or Lifetime Learning Credit if you are taking your online classes from a college, university, vocational school, or other post-secondary schools.
It must still be an eligible institution. An eligible educational institution is a school offering higher education beyond high school. It is any college, university, trade school, or other post-secondary educational institution eligible to participate in a student aid program run by the U.S. Department of Education.
