I want to make sure I am filling out the Education section correctly for my kiddo. Where do the fees go that are not included in the amount on our 1098T as paid which is in the "tuition and enrollment fees" area of turbotax?Do I put these (such as the student activity fee, etc.) in the "Books and materials required" section, or do I adjust the "Tuition and enrollment fees" section to include those fees? The situation is that she received scholarship that paid much of the cost but not all. So the amount on our 1098T shows only what we paid that scholarship did not cover.
And am I right that I should leave out the housing, meal plan, and parking fee completely? (No 529 plan here.)
Can I use the dorm technology fee as required, since it's required for her to live on campus, yet living on campus isn't required?
