How do I report Americorp tuition payments

I received tuition reimbursement from Americorp. Intuit is directing me to enter the money as income on a schedule C. There are a lot of questions being asked I do not know how to answer. Is there any support for this?

As part of a teaching job I had I was awarded money for tuition. It was not my salary. It was in addition to what the school district was paying me.

I followed the directions and got to Other Taxable Income page. It states that you cannot enter income reported on a 1099-Misc. The AmeriCorps money was reported on a 1099-Misc

The  AmeriCorps reimbursement is not counted as self-employment

To enter your AmeriCorps reimbursement in TurboTax Premier follow these steps

With TurboTax open select  Wages & Income click on I'll choose what I work on

Scroll down to Less Common Income and select Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C

On the next page select Other reportable income

On the page Other Taxable Income enter AmeriCorps reimbursement in the description.

This will put the income on Schedule 1 Line 21 of your 1040, as required by the IRS.  You will pay state and federal income tax on the amount, but it will not be subject to self-employment tax.
