License fees can only be deducted if you are an independent contractor as opposed to a employee.  Continuing education is eligible for Lifetime Learning Credit

What if you are a self-employed nurse and doing a Sch C, can you deduction continue education on the schedule C?

Are you saying NOT to take a deduction on the Sch C, under 27A, other expenses?

Yes, continuing education expenses are deductible** on Schedule C, for the self employed.

Staring in 2018, regular W-2 employees are no longer allowed to deduct "job expenses", including continuing education and licensing fees.

**The general rule is: Educational expenses to improve your current job skills are deductible. But learning a new job is not.
