Filling out 1098-T for college tuition and turbo tax asks for "Filer's federal ID no." What is this? Assuming student's SSN but formatted as

That’s the EIN of the school.

TT is asking for the school's federal ID #.  It's the 2nd box down, on the left side of the 1098-T, labeled: FILER’S employer identification no

The filer's federal ID is the college's tax id number (TIN). That number is required to be entered. 

It starts with 2 digits-7 more digits.
