Entering my 1098-T

I'm a student who wishes to enter my 1098-T information under deductibles. The issue I keep having is that TurboTax keeps skipping over the part where I enter my tuition payments. It automatically enters the tuition amount as $0, and does not allow me to edit the amount or enter any actual 1098-T information. When I click on the related info box, I'm told that I already entered that information earlier, which I absolutely did not. There is no point in the education deduction process where i have been able to fill out my 1098-T information. I've been through the both the wages and deductions applications four times already trying to find where the problem may be occurring, but I cannot figure this out myself. Please help.

Delete the Form 8863 and redo it.

To Delete a Form

Open your return in TurboTax.

  • In the left side bar, select Tax ToolsTools.
  • In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
  • Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet and follow the onscreen instructions.

Go to the federal taxes, Deductions & Credits and Edit Expenses and Scholarships.  When you see the Your Education Expenses Summary- Delete the Student.
